So I was just listening to some old Kenyan hip hop and R&B jams and the idea of archiving the great Kenyan urban music that was released between the period of 1996-2003, (the golden age and the flowering period of Kenyan hip-hop and RnB) struck me. so this blog is basically a means of archiving and collecting Kenyan urban music of that period from all kinds of sources, whether it is Kenyan music fans, DJ's, artists or anyone who has those first tunes. it is also a place where those looking to rediscover those Kenyan hits of yesteryear can come from Five Alive, to Hardstone and Eric Wainaina and everything in between. I think this is a good idea whose time has come to ensure our great urban music of this period does not get lost forever. So let us kick this blog of and get ready to reminisce, jam and contribute!
